Welcome to the Fast Cars - Dragster Section. This section features pictures of dragsters and roadsters. Dragsters have become one of the most popular choices among bracket racers. These fast cars require significantly less horspower, due to their weight, than full bodied cars. They also have excellent 60ft. times and typically higher mph than doorslammers, both of which provides a slight competitive advantage. And for parents who want to get their kids into the sport, there is junior drag racing. The kids get to drive what are known as "jr dragsters" which are scaled down versions of the typical dragsters featured below. The jr dragsters are powered by lawnmower engines, some of which are heavily modified, even running on alcohol in some cases. There is a limit as to how fast the jr dragsters are allowed to traverse the 1/8th mile for safety reasons and is currently set at 7.90 seconds (which is faster than most sports cars are capable of achieving).
